Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
What This Policy Covers
Speak Your Book is currently in a demand-validation stage. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect the information you share with us when you join the founding waitlist on this website.
If you have questions about anything here, please reach out to us at privacy@speakyourbook.co.
What We Collect
When you join the founding waitlist, we collect:
Your name and email address.
Your answers to a short set of questions about your book, your goals, what has stopped you from writing it, what level of support you would consider, and whether you're open to a short research conversation.
A general indication of how you found this site (for example, from a link, a search engine, or directly), derived automatically from standard tracking parameters in the page URL or the referring page. We do not use cookies or cross-site tracking to build this.
Standard technical information, such as browser type, device, and pages visited, collected automatically to help us understand how the site is being used. This is non-identifying aggregate data.
How We Use Your Information
We use what you share only to evaluate demand for Speak Your Book and to shape the founding version of the service. Specifically:
To understand whether experienced professionals want help turning their expertise into a book by speaking it.
To follow up by email, including a confirmation that you joined the waitlist and, if you indicated you're open to it, an invitation to a short research conversation.
To improve the offer, using aggregate, anonymized responses.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your answers to train AI models.
Where Your Information Is Stored
During this validation stage, waitlist submissions are stored in a private Google Sheet accessible only to the Speak Your Book founder. Your submission is sent directly from this website to that private sheet and is not stored in any other database.
We work with a small number of infrastructure providers, such as our hosting, form-processing, and email providers, who process data on our behalf under standard confidentiality terms. They receive only what they need to perform their function. We do not sell your personal information.
We may be required to disclose information in response to a valid legal request, such as a court order or subpoena.
Your Rights and Control
You can request a copy of the information you submitted, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it at any time by contacting privacy@speakyourbook.co. We will process the request within 30 days.
You can also opt out of future emails at any time by contacting us directly.
Data Security
We take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us immediately at privacy@speakyourbook.co.
Data Retention
We keep waitlist submissions for as long as we are actively developing and validating the founding offer, and for a reasonable period afterward. If you ask us to delete your data, we will do so within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records by law.
Children's Privacy
Speak Your Book is designed for working professionals and is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the offer develops. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last updated.
